Theatre & Live Performance
Over the last few years we have built up a good relationship with training providers in the industry. On the following pages you will see how we work closely with suppliers and training professionals to provide high quality and relevant courses, and who exactly we work with to organise these courses.
The support for BECTU from the Union Learning Fund (ULF) for a dedicated Project Worker to organise technical training for theatre workers has allowed a range of courses to be developed over the last two years. We have worked with industry suppliers of technical equipment, many of whom have recognised the need to provide training to the industry and the lack of formal training currently available. Also due to ULF support we have been able to subsidise this training which has been particularly beneficial to freelances who would otherwise struggle to fund their continuous professional development and keep up with changes in technology.
On the next set of pages you will find a breakdown of the partners we work with and the types of courses we can provide. We are always aiming to add to our course list and will be updating this regularly.
We cannot guarantee the quality of any training providers or courses but have tried to provide information about accredited providers (colleges and universities) and training providers recommended to authorities such as Sector Skills Councils.
